One more step to get the blog ready to enter in the new year. Thanks to a sweet Black Friday discount, I have tried the Moo mini cards that everybody is raving about. They arrived on Friday and I do love them very much. The paper is smooth and heavy weight, the colors are vivid. I am really excited to have something to give around so that people can find me on the web.

I would like to introduce you to the newly redesigned rainbow Happy Loops bracelet which features more colors and the new s-hook clasp.

A couple months ago, I have replaced the toggle clasp with this new clasp that has several advantages.

1- It allows to ship the bracelet with extra rings at the other end so that the gallery can customize on site the length of the bracelet for their client. Just cut off the unnecessary rings with a pair of regular pliers, and voila!

2- It is prettier and makes it easier to attach the bracelet around the wrist. The toggle clasps was a bit of a struggle.

3- As I make the hook myself in the same wire than the rest of the bracelet, this also has benefits for me.
One, I am not limited by the two basic silver and gold colors and can make a s-hook clasps to match any color.
Two, I do not need to pay attention to always have enough clasps in inventory and deal with the anxiety it will be out of stock at my supplier when I need more.

The bracelet is made of enameled copper wire which is hypoallergenic and tarnish free. Of course, I have plenty of earrings to match.

A day will come when the animals, winged ones and those who swim will begin to disappear. The eagle, bear, wolf and buffalo will be scarce because people will become greedy and will not love each other. The sky will become black and the trees and plants will die. The beautiful rainbow will disappear because people will not remember to keep the Mother Earth sacred and will destroy its beauty.

Children of the Rainbow Warriors will come and they will love the trees and the animals. They will love and respect each other and they will help people to live in peace with all creation. The rainbow in the sky will return as a sign of the Creator’s grace.

American Indian prophecy

Copper jewelry, green skin and health benefits

August 16, 2011 Jewelry buzz

Copper is a beautiful natural material that is also affordable. I personally love it and think it looks great just by itself or combined with turquoises. Unfortunately some of my galleries would not touch copper jewelry with a 10 feet pole. Why? mostly because their customers complain it makes their skin turn green. On another [...]

August 14, 2011 Studio Life

I have been recently attracted by the process of hand engraving on metal. After conducting some research on the web, I came across Bryan Bridges. Bryan is a master engraver with more than 30 years of experience and, oh lucky me, he happens to live in the Phoenix Valley and gives private instruction in his [...]

Bisbee turquoises. Where they come from and why they are rare.

August 4, 2011 Materials

Are you like me and love turquoises? I am very partial to local turquoises from Arizona that I buy directly from the mines (like in Bisbee, Kingman or Globe) and do not care at all for the cheap turquoises that come from China. In fact, as I am writing this post, I read the news [...]

What is dichroic glass

July 6, 2011 Materials

Dichroic glass is a glass that has been coated with metal oxides. The process of coating is highly technical…. The glass is placed in an airless vacuum chamber where quartz crystals and metal oxides are vaporized with an electron beam gun. If this process looks like coming out a sci-fi movie, this is because it [...]

5 reasons to love Bisbee, Arizona

June 22, 2011 I am a real person

A couple weeks ago, I went to Bisbee to meet with a new gallery. If you have never been to Bisbee, just plan to do it someday. I know that it looks like out of nowhere and not bigger than a mosquito dropping on a map, but it is well worth it. I can guarantee [...]

Unconventional history of chain mail

May 29, 2011 Jewelry buzz

I searched for the origin and history of chain mail and what I found out is that no one knows for sure. Must go back to a very long time…. Its origin is definitely European -of that, I am sure- and since I loved visiting museums when I was living in France, I’ve decided to [...]

Meaning of the rainbow colors

January 3, 2011 I am a real person

I am deeply attracted with using the colors of the rainbow in my work. Although I am aware that the rainbow carries many symbolism, from deep spiritual meaning to gay pride, I’ve never given any special thought to it beyond the fact that all those colors are so pretty.
