During those past 10 years, I have visited Sedona on a regular basis. However, this is only until very recently that I have heard about the Stupas at the base of Thunder Mountain. The blessing ceremony occurred 4 years ago, yet this was the first time I ever heard about them.

For thousands of years, Buddhist practitioners have built Stupas to promote spiritual healing and peace. Stupas are a living presence of compassion and radiate constant blessings throughout the world. It is said that all who see a Stupa, hear of it or reflect upon it are forever changed by its grace.

Everyday, people from Sedona and all over the world visit the Amithaba Stupa Peace Park on Pueblo Road, just off Andante Drive. It is easy to find, but there are no signs.
The park is still in construction. People come here alone or together to meditate, pray, participate to ceremonies and celebrations to benefit people, animals and places in the world.

From the street where I parked, this is a 5 minutes walk to reach the Stupas via a pathway wandering through the juniper pines. The trees are covered with payers flags printed with sacred symbols to carry spiritual vibrations in the wind.

The first Stupas is the smallest one, only six feet tall. It is named White Tara Stupa after the female Buddha who is the embodiment of long life and compassion.

The second Stupas is 36 feet high and is named Amitabha Stupa after the Buddha of Limitless Light. The Stupa is filled with millions of prayers for peace, sacred relics and ritual offering.

You don’t have to be a Buddhist to visit the Stupas. People from every tradition are welcome to come here to meditate and pray. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Sedona, stop there to enjoy the peace and pray for yourself, you loved ones and for the end of suffering in the world.

- post regularly,
- upload bunch of new listings in my store on eBay,

but I did:

- finish my web site at www.oneillglassart.com with a protected area for my wholesale accounts,
- learn about Bonanzle, the new up and coming e-commerce site for everything unique and out of the ordinary,
- open a booth on Bonanzle. It is still in construction but coming along… I plan to limit the amount of finished pieces I have on eBay and list them on Bonanzle instead. My eBay store will be for Glass Working Supplies.
- drive down to Tubac to terminate my painful relationship with the Tubac Center of the Arts,
- start a new relashionship with Constant Contact for email marketing,
- work on new pieces for my galleries,
- work on an advertising campain for Gift Shop Magazine and New Age Retailer,
- took a iMovie class at the Apple Store to make “how to’s” movies for you,
and maybe other stuffs that I can’t remember.

Stay tuned for more news!

A bientôt,

A lots of things have happened these last couple of weeks. Dust does not have time to pile up. So, let’s cut to the chase and go for for the big lines:

1) I have refocused my store on eBay toward glass working supplies. Therefore I have changed it’s name to “glass working supplies” (original, isn’t it?) and created a domain www.glassworkingsupplies.com (I think that you got it by now…).
I’ll still propose some finished pieces. Work not available in stores. But over the next month, I am going to increase the amount of listings in the supplies category.
I am anxiously waiting for September 16th. This is when the new eBay fee for fixed price listing is going to kick off and it is going to be a money saver for me and you.

2) I have redesigned my store logo, with ze petite frog, the same that you find here and there on the blog. You can discover it on the right sidebar of this page. I also took the opportunity to change the colors of my store. Let’s be honnest, all this red… was too much.

3) I have updated my About Me page and Customer Service page. Fresh information and new look. I do not know where all those frogs come from… maybe there is a nest not very far?

Right now, I am preparing bunch of new listings for mid-September, when the new listing policy with eBay will start. Stay tuned!

I welcome your comments on my new pages.

A bientôt!!

I guess that I am slow at following trends… I am starting my blog today. But what do they say? better later than never… and I am really excited to have a place where to connect with my eBay customers.

What’s with the name? Well… as you may know (if you do not, now is the time to check my about me page ), I am a studio glass artist and my specialty is a process called “kiln-formed glass” or “kiln-fired glass”. Some call it “fused glass” but I do not like it at all. First, the fusing part is only one step of the process. Then, it has been “dumbed down” by so many people…

So, let’s not deviate too much and return to firing. Firing is just the technical term used when we put glass in an electric kiln and crank up the heat. Whatever effect we want to obtain, it always has to be done by firing. And, of course, we like to take notes, lots of notes. The only way to repeat the same effect, or to improve it, or to never do it again, is to know exactly what was done.
The notebook where we keep track of our experimentation is called a “firing log”. Okay, now you get it… firing log… firing blog.. cute or corny, what do you think?

A Bientôt!!
